TSR Orchestra

The TSR Orchestra is a unique society dance orchestra specializing in classic dance music from the 1920s to the new millennium. Extremely versatile, this group performs as a core 5-pc. to a small orchestra with fabulous vocals, horns and strings.

Since 1990 the TSR Orchestra, has travelled extensively on the east coast and throughout the United States, thrilling crowds of all ages at countless events from weddings to bar mitzvahs to conventions to anniversary parties. Complete with vintage tuxedos and deco-styled bandstands, this talented group of performers transitions seamlessly from the swinging sounds of the big bands and Sinatra to the more modern dance styles of Pop/Rock/Motown/Disco/Latin/R&B and more. Fabulous male and female singers front the ensemble comprised of a 4-piece rhythm section and tight 2-7 pieces horn section. It’s a “big band” in a small package!

Options to add are the beautiful and swinging Ragg Dolls vocal trio, Latino singers, and the gorgeous violin section. All music is expertly arranged for each event by the leader/trombonist who is the former Chief Arranger of the United States Navy Band.

  1. Great job at October 8th wedding!

    Dear Scott,

A heartfelt THANK YOU for the incredible music at our wedding. The entire band truly went above and beyond for us, and we couldn’t be more thankful. You truly made our vision come to life in ways we could have never even imagined. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our wedding as magical as it was. We tore up the dance floor and had the time of our lives. We are so so grateful. Can’t wait to show you the photos ❤️

    All our love,
    Elaina & Sean

  2. Many thanks!

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to you and to the extremely talented members of the TSR Orchestra for making our wedding music everything we dreamed of! I searched for so long for the perfect band and you were it, without a doubt. Your range of repertoire and passion for the classic Great American Songbook standards that my family and I love made our event classic, classy, and so very “me”! I felt like I was living out my Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dreams as Boris I foxtrotted across the floor with your big band by our side playing the timeless music of Cole Porter. Every number the whole night was great, and as the band knows, I barely left the dance floor! I could have danced all night…

The level of musicianship of your players and singers was so high and so rare to find in wedding bands. The music was the perfect volume with a mix of songs that met all of our eclectic requests-from the 1930s to the current pop hits, you played it. Thank you also for taking our requests throughout the night. Everyone commented on how you were the best band they have encountered at a wedding and they were right.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please share my message with the rest of the band.

    Sincerely,

    Allison F

  3. Karen's Wedding

    Hi, Scott!

We have spent the past week basking in the glow of Claire and Andrew’s wedding and reception! We are so happy with how everything went. TSR was awesome! So many people commented on the band. They just couldn’t believe we found such a great band for the occasion. It was just the kind of music that makes everybody happy.

We were absolutely thrilled with the way you paced the music and the selections. We are happy to recommend you whenever possible.

BTW, my 90-year-old dad (who just got a new hip two years ago) said he wanted to dance with Claire, me, and my mom, which he did. But then he also asked Andrew’s widowed grandma to dance. Then my cousin Cindy grabbed him and said he couldn’t leave the dance floor until he’d danced with her. Dad told me right at that moment you started playing “In the Mood,” so what could he do? Seeing him dance made me so happy.

Thanks for making the party tip-top!

I keep thinking of Steve singing “Isn’t She Lovely?” WOW!!! And Sheila singing and you and all the other band members playing such a fantastic repertoire of songs, each of which I claim as my favorite. We love you guys!

    Karen C.

  5. Col. Bart Bartlett Wedding

We still talk about the marvelous time we enjoyed at our wedding due to your great music! We were so blown away by the majesty of your music – everyone was on the dance floor without being asked to step up. Your exceptional group of professionals made our special day even more memorable. The “Andrews Sisters” were a great hit and we particularly liked their rendition of “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” I hope you’re having a great summer and are enjoying great success with the band – you all are awesome!

  6. Parents of the Bride, Wedding Reception

Thank you so much for your wonderful job at our recent wedding reception for our daughter. Your sound, attention to detail and look made the occasion more than memorable. When people get up to dance before they’ve even finished dinner, you know you have a unique musical experience. You even managed to get some of our older, more sedentary relatives up on the floor! We would recommend you to anyone who would like a superb band experience.

  7. L. Cook & T. Day Wedding Reception

Wow! Just wow! You and the band were what made our reception really spectacular. We had people coming up to us all night to tell us how amazing the music was, and people who never dance were out on the floor the whole time. You seamlessly blended all of our favorite songs, and the first dance that I was so worried about was absolutely perfect thanks to you. One of our favorite memories of the night has got to be seeing the brass section come out onto the dance floor with our guests to play. It was amazing. The experience was everything we could have asked for and more. So many, many thanks for a memorable, wonderful, sublime experience. It was a pleasure to meet you and Sheila and the whole band.
