St. Petersburg Trio

We are pleased to introduce you to the unique arrangements and sounds created by the St. Petersburg Trio using traditional Russian folk instruments. All three members of the ensemble graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, regarded as Russia’s premier music university of music. They have performed in Germany, France, Great Britian, Austria and they have participated in folk festivals throughout Russia, Scotland, Wales and England.

In these delightful pieces you will hear the DOMRA or Russian mandolin, the BAYAN, or button accordion and the Contra-bass BALALAIKA, whose “cousin,” the prima balalaika, first appeared to Western audiences in the film adaptation of Boris Pasternak’s “Dr. Zhivago.”

We are thrilled to offer the St. Petersburg Trio and look forward to arranging for them to entertain at celebrations, concerts and festivals.
