Repertoire, experience, youth and scalability are the phrases that best describe Keynote. The basic band is composed of three singers (male, female and male/keyboardist) and then we add guitar and drums to complete the rhythm section. Each of the band members has extensive recording and performing experience with their own solo projects or as featured members of prominent national Jazz, gospel or hip hop artists. We have also prepared the music for additional performers to play with the band upon demand, so feel free to add a horn section, percussionist or other additional performers.

Working in configurations of 5 to 9 players, Keynote covers the range of music from the most current Top 40 songs to all of your favorite tunes from the Great American Songbook. This band brings plenty of versatility for clients to shape the band to fit their venue, budget or music styles.

Offering ensembles of varying sizes and sounds, the String Theory combines exquisite musicianship. Unlike the typical classical ensembles, String Theory is a trend-setting group that is capable of performing a variety of popular music from acts such as The Beatles, U2, Coldplay, etc.  Ensembles can be configured in accordance with your needs and budget and encompass configurations the following String Theory Quartet, the String Theory Trio or Duo, as well as the String Theory Piano and String Ensemble.  Additionally we have a range of solo performers from harp, Celtic harp and strings, classical guitar, flute, violin and even accordion. Our ensemble leader will work with you to assemble the optimal choice of instrumentation best suited for your affair. These artists are perfect for your wedding, reception, and cocktail functions for either private or corporate clients. Because we staff these groups with such talent, you’ll find them capable of covering a wide variety of material supporting the needs of a traditional Jewish, Christian, Catholic or non-denominational/non-traditional ceremony or reception. String Theory features some of the finest musicians in the Washington and Baltimore area. Their varied backgrounds include chamber musicians from The Baltimore Symphony, The Baltimore Opera, The United States Marine String Orchestra, The Kennedy Center Orchestra, The Washington Concert Opera, Concert Artists of Baltimore, The Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, The National Gallery Orchestra, and Pro Music Rara and many other notable ensembles.

The String Theory String Quartet

The String Theory Quartet is typically composed of two violins, viola and cello and provides a rich string sound ideal for a wedding in a large venue, cathedral, synagogue, or ballroom. The repertoire of the Quartet runs from classic Broadway and movie themes through rock and roll up to today’s contemporary recording artists. Their music is best suited for easy listening and background at a reception as opposed to dancing. Solo trumpet can be added to the ensemble for brilliance during the processional and recessional of a wedding ceremony.

The String Theory Trio

This stationary ensemble is comprised of violin, viola and cello or two violins and cello. A flute can be added supplementing the rich warm sound of the trio with lightness, making it perfect for a garden wedding or non-traditional reception. This group is balances budget and is best suited to present rock covers through today’s contemporary music.

The String Theory Piano and Strings Ensemble

This stationary ensemble is our most versatile group. The instrumentation consists of piano, two violins and bass. This ensemble can expand its’ numbers to match a larger venue and provides an even more luxurious sound. With its contemporary repertoire, the piano and strings ensemble can also provide dance selections – perfect for your Wedding Reception!

Some people want a band to play for their event for their live energy.  Some want a DJ to play club music.  Playlist gives you both and more.  This band features young, energetic and talented singers, experienced musicians AND a DJ integrated into the band.  Playlist is the epitome of customized state of the art entertainment.  And with Playlist, you not only get the experience of a high-energy live dance band and the incredible versatility of a DJ, they offer the most current song list of any band their size.  The DJ actually spins alongside the band, adding all of the layers from your favorite version of the song to make it sound just like the recording.  And he is also available to play any request.

Playlist has a core group of seven players, including three dynamic lead vocalists (two female and one male), guitar, keyboards/bass, drums, and of course, a DJ.  Add some extra oomph to your event by hiring up to two additional horn players to take the sound to another level.  Perhaps most important, all of this comes with an incredibly affordable price tag, too!

The members of Playlist together possess a combined century of studying and performance.  Many of Playlist’s members have degrees from some of the nation’s top music schools, including University of Miami and Howard University.  Some have toured the world and worked in the studio with internationally-known artists, such as soul sensation Raheem DeVaughn and gospel star Norman Hutchins.  Our DJ, who is bilingual (English and Spanish), has performed at hundreds of events, including many Latin weddings and quinceaneras, and was recently named one of the Top 50 DJs in the DC area by dcclubbing.com.

DJ Sweat was born in Arlington, Virginia and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He always had a passion for music, enrolling in music classes as early as the age of 9.  By the age of 14 Jose Rivera, aka DJ Sweat, had already learned to play the saxophone.

Summer of 1999, Jose started tagging along with local DJ’s, helping them load and set-up equipment at private events. Having one of the best local DJ’s as his mentor supporting him, in November 1999, DJ Sweat purchased his own DJ equipment and decided he wanted to work on his own.

Being bi-lingual, he gained experience in both American and Latin private events. This then turned into working for several night clubs in the DC Metropolitan area. DJ Sweat now has over 10 years of experience at nightclubs/lounges, corporate events, weddings, birthdays, and any event that requires making a crowd dance!

Reynolds is an extremely versatile DJ who is very talented at playing any all genres of music. Simply put, you name it, he can spin it. He has a passion for getting everyone in the room dancing. His energy and presence always give an event that extra spark to take any event to the next level.

He is a true musician who began learning to play all brass instruments at an early age. His ear and talent for music lead him to his first event when he was 13 and his career took off from there. He has performed in multiple cities throughout his career, including spots in Hampton, Atlanta, Charlotte and Miami. He has even had a stint working at New York’s famous Hot 97 FM.

DJ Reynolds came to Washington DC in 2006 and has not missed a beat. He has worked many of the hottest clubs and lounges in Washington DC including Topaz, Rogue and Ceviche. His talent, professionalism and dedication to excellence are unquestionable.

Coming to music by way of the high fashion industry, Heather understands that music truly sets the mood. With honed mixing skills, Heather has delivered soundtracks for runway shows, parties and events for clients such as Motorola, Kodak, Virgin America, Ferrari, Barney’s New York, and Vogue.

This DJ has spun in exceptional locations, including the Air and Space Museum, the The Kennedy Center, Corcaran Gallery of Art, and literally on the Mall in Washington D.C. for a packed dance floor. In New York, she has spun for Gap, in their Times Square windows, and played for a prestigious party at Grand Central Station. Currently, Heather plays at the exclusive L2 Lounge in Georgetown, Washington D.C. with globetrotting mix of genres.

Prior to working in music, Heather was the fashion director for Nordstrom. She was the creative force behind the musical backdrop to many large scale fashion shows. She understands the workings of large scale events and productions. Repeat appearances on the national “Today” show were a great education in public speaking. Yearly trips to Europe, and DJ industry events keep Heather up to date on the most current music trends.

Recently, Heather has provided discerning couples with a customized soundtrack to their wedding day that culminates in a great dance party. Weddings provide the perfect canvas for a key combination of excellent people skills, creativity, & professionalism.

My name is DJ Drew. I have over 10 years of experience as a disc jockey with music covering the most popular genres. I’ve successfully performed at numerous events that include weddings, corporate functions, reunions, cruise ships, sweet sixteens, and pool parties to name a few.

Frequently prospective clients ask, “What is your style?”  My answer is simply, “Whatever my you are looking for.”  If your needs dictate a formal demeanor with little interaction, you have it.  If you want a more engaged, interactive, but not cheesy DJ, I can do that also.  My preference is supporting the class, elegance and joy of weddings, the fun of corporate events and personalization of private parties.  I consider these types of events my key skills.  I offer ongoing support and a review of your time line as needed.
